Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about our F1 art, limited editions, printing and delivery.
We create F1 art for collectors who want something genuinely special. Every design is limited to just 50 prints per size, hand-numbered, and logged so each one is traceable and unique. We don’t mass-produce artwork or sell unlimited runs — those are posters. We make true limited edition F1 art prints.
We sure do! Every print is hand numbered and you also get a hand signed and numbered authenticity sticker on the back. We receive your order, we take it from our stock of high quality art prints, number it, sign it and carefully pack it before sending it on in a high quality tube straight to your door.
Yes! We are not a reseller. Your buying artwork from me (Adam Palethorpe). We do everthing ourselves. Artwork, packing, dispatch and customer service. All done by me with a little help from Becky (my partner) and sometimes even the kids help out!
Back in 2008 I wanted to get my Dad an F1 gift but I was pretty short on cash. I had just finished Uni and studied Car Design, so I had some skills in automotive artwork and concept art – I put those to good use and RacePrints was born.

My artwork combines a mix of styles and techniques shaped by my background in car and transport design. Most pieces begin with pencil sketching, followed by marker work before being scanned. I’ll then build up colour using watercolours and sometimes acrylics. Often I’ll scan the piece again, or even print it on canvas to continue with acrylics, before finishing elements digitally. Every print follows its own process, but they all share the same DNA and handcrafted feel.
Creating each piece takes a long time, and I do it around full-time work and family life — which is why we release only a small number of artworks each year.
Unlike mass-produced poster sellers, we don’t simply modify online images or run filters over photos. Every RacePrints piece is original artwork, built layer by layer, with countless hours of real technique behind it.
Our artwork comes in the following sizes:
- A4 (210 x 297mm or approx 8.3 x 11.7 inches)
- A3 (297 x 420mm or approx 11.7 x 16.5 inches)
- A2 (420 x 594mm or approx 16.5 x 23.4 inches)
In both A4 and A3 sizes we sell 50 of each print. In A2 size we sell just 20. If you choose a numbered edition from the store page, for example A4 number 3, you will be allocated number 3 in that size – your print will come with ‘3/50’ written on front and back, and you’ll forever be the owner of that number in the print run. Pretty awesome, right?!
We only sell 50 or less of each print – REAL limited edition artwork – rare nowadays, right?!
We write the number on each print, and we log the buyer against that print edition. That’s what print number means. so if you choose an A4 print and choose number 7, you’ll get an A4 print with ‘7/50’ on the front and back.
Great for creating personalised collections or choosing numbers that mean something special to you or the recipient.
You choose your print number from the drop down on the store page. Available numbers will be displayed. On some older artwork we keep track of numbers manually, so there is no option for this.
Note – You cannot ‘reserve’ a number, once it is in your basket you must checkout before someone else adds the same number to their basket and pays before you.
We are UK based, and all printing and postage is from the UK too.
Yes – we ship worldwide. Postage costs are calculated at checkout. We use Royal Mail for all shipping. You’l get an email notification when your item has been dispatched, and you can find estimated shipping times hereÂ
Sometimes things don’t work out, or it’s not quite what you expect – we get it. It rarely happens, which is great, but when it does – just send it back. You cover the cost of returning it, and we’ll refund you the full basket price + the cost of shipping it out.Â
